Harnessing the talents of refugee doctors
Description: "For many refugees and asylum seekers, finding work is a major step in making a new life in another country. In the case of refugee and asylum seeking doctors, this means satisfying the General Medical Council (GMC) that they have the necessary linguistic and clinical skills to practise in the UK.
The Scottish Council for Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education
(SCPMDE), through its West of Scotland Deanery, is supporting a small group of refugee doctors in Glasgow who are seeking registration to practise in the NHS. SCPMDE offers the doctors advice and guidance in planning
training and education; provides access to books and journals and practical assistance to enable individuals to attend courses/placements and sit
