The trafficking of children into, and through, the UK for sexual purposes: What the Professionals Know
Description: "In September 2000, ECPAT (End Child Prostitution, Pornography and
Trafficking) groups from Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway and the UK started research into the trafficking of children from Eastern Europe to their respective countries. The research aim was to get from fiction to fact on the trafficking of children, as past research on trafficking has often centred on the trafficking of women, rather than children.
The project was developed by the ECPAT European Law Enforcement Group, and coordinated by Defence for Children International, the Netherlands Section. The project was largely funded by the STOP Programme of the European
Commission and the Oak Foundation."
