54 - VOLUNTARY ASSISTED RETURN PROGRAMME

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The purpose of this bulletin is to give caseworkers information on the Voluntary assisted return programme.

WHEN THIS INFORMATION IS RELEVANT TO US

If we get queries from an asylum seeker in the United Kingdom who falls into one of the following groups...

is awaiting a Home Office decision

has been refused by the Home Office

is appealing against a refused asylum application

has withdrawn an asylum application

granted Exceptional Leave to Remain

and wishes to return permanently to his/her home country then the Voluntary Assisted Return Programme may be able to help the asylum seeker.
